Arrive at Kigali International Airport. Meet and greet before transferring to Kigali City. After checking in into your hotel you may have a City tour in Kigali (optional) including a visit to the genocide sites, the art and craft centre.
After breakfast transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Along the way, make stops at places of interest including local markets, the traditional palace of Rwanda’s Former King in Nyanza. In Butare, visit the Botanical Gardens and a cultural museum.
Drive past green fields of tea scattered across the hillsides and the small wooden houses unique to the areas surrounding Nyungwe Forest.
Have an early rise and go for Chimpanzee tracking. Nyungwe National Park is one of the destinations in the world where you can see more than five primate species including rare species such the Angolan black and colobus monkeys. Nyungwe also boasts of a unique phenomenon in primate tourism because of its huge concentrations of habituated primates.
Nyungwe National Park has also got a well maintained and rare network of nature walkways developed to enable tourists to view unique rainforest features and experiences.
These walkways meander the gentle hills of the park accessing various attractions such as waterfalls and interesting over-the-canopy views. You may also visit the local community through the village walks, artisan groups, or visiting the twin lakes Burere and Ruhondo.
Transfer to Kigali in time to catch your flight back home.
