On the second day of your Safari, you will have breakfast and brace yourself for a thrilling game drive in the vast savannah of Kidepo Valley intercepted by patches of borassus palm and the rising scenic hills. Enjoy the stunning views of the morning sun shining over the hills of Lomej, the Lotukei Mountains to the north close to the Sudan border, the Morungole range to the southern boundary of Kidepo before the rays strike down to the endless valleys of Kidepo and Narus valley.
You will enjoy an extensive 3 to 4 hours game drive exploring the vastness of Kidepo and all its treasures including lions, leopards, elephants, Buffaloes, Side stripped Jackals, the Burchell’s Zebra, the Eland, the Cheetah found here only in Uganda, Guenther’s dik-dik found here only in East Africa, striped hyena, aardwolf, caracal, the lesser and greater Kudu, klipspringer, dik-dik, Bright’s gazelle, Chandler’s mountain reedbuck, beisa onyx, African wild dogs, waterbuck Jackson’s hartebeest and black-backed jackal among others
The extended drive to Kidepo Valley rewards you with the sights of Ostriches which are unique to Kidepo national park.
Return back to the lodge to freshen up and ready yourself for lunch. After lunch, go for a community tour and visit the Karamojong people.
Interact with this unique group of people at Karenna and Kapedo known for their nomadic pastoralism. Mix, mingle and explore their traditions, the Manyattas (small grass-thatched huts), the arts and crafts, the Kraal and the grazing field and traditional performances before heading back to the lodge to unwind.
