7 Days Rwanda Primates Experience: In the southwest Nyungwe National Park is a vast tract of virgin forest, one of the largest uncut natural forest reserves remaining in Africa and Home to habituated chimpanzees and 12 other primates species (including a 400-strong troop of habituated Ruwenzori Black & White Colobus), it’s also a birder’s paradise with over 300 species, including 16 endemics, and is home to 75 different species of mammals.
On arrival at Kigali International Airport in Rwanda, you will be received by one of our tour guides who will transfer you to the hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you will do a city tour to introduce you to the history and culture of this country of a thousand hills and visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre. Overnight at your hotel.
Early morning enjoy your breakfast and leave the hotel to western province, on your way visit the Royal Palace Museum and Ethnographic Museum in Southern Province. After lunch, you head to Nyungwe National Park. [Approximate driving time: 5 hours]
After an early morning breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters together with your packed lunch early enough to be briefed about the code of conduct while with the gorillas. This will be followed by entering the forest in search of the gorillas in the forest which may take 2-6 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas in the jungle. Meet and stay with the gorillas for a maximum of one hour. Ascend for a community walk to the Banyarwanda people and enjoy their different performances and also explore more about their unique culture.
Have an early morning breakfast and then proceed to the park headquarters to trek golden monkeys or hiking Bisoke volcano along with other primates in the forest. After you will be transferred to Kigali for your departure flight.
