You will be picked up by Equatorial Wild Safari’s representative, driver and guide who has been tailored to be accommodating, suit your needs and make you feel at home in your new temporary home; Uganda. He will pick you from the Entebbe International airport today morning and transfer you by private vehicle through Kampala to Jinja. As you drive past Kampala to Jinja, if time allows, you will visit the Sezibwa falls a favourite place of rest and healing for the Kabakas (Kings) of Buganda Kingdom.
It is a very important place and historical site to the people of this Kingdom which is still thriving even in today’s modern times. It is still a place that people hold sacred to their hearts and a home where people come to seek the old ways. You will also stop in Mabira forest for a forest nature walk. This is a very dense forest which harbours all sorts of vegetation, tree species, thick undergrowth and creepers and not to mention insects and mammals that have set shop within this thick vegetation. It is a very natural place with a calming breeze, lyrical rhythms from birds and singing insects to accompany you throughout the walk. We rest here and have our meals.
After a hearty breakfast, you will be dropped off at the base of where you will experience one of the many adventures Jinja and the Nile have to offer. Today is going to be about danger, adrenaline, fun, sporting and real adventure.
Prepare to put yourself out there, brave your heart, wear a helmet, get wet, wild and defy the forces of water thrusting upon you as you go rafting. It is an amazing experience that might change your life. You just can’t be the same after this experience. It is almost magical for those who savour every moment of it. After rafting you will return to Kampala for dinner and overnight.
Another day of adventure is here. We start this adventure with a drive North West through the famous Luwero Triangle via Masindi town. Through your car window, you will be served with Uganda’s beautiful sights and sounds. You will view the different cultures, behaviours and the ways of the diverse tribes in Uganda. You will see their standards of living and the various activities they engage in. You will also see Uganda’s beautiful scenery and the vast wealth of green savannah across large areas.
We shall Branch off to visit Zziwa Rhino sanctuary for a guided Rhino walk where we shall be able to cross paths with large harmless Rhinos on foot, take pictures and possibly talk to them in Rhino language (that’s if you can) and later we shall enjoy a lovely picnic lunch. Later, we shall continue to the Murchison falls National Park. There is a possibility of an evening drive if we arrive early. After the drive, we shall leave you to enjoy the mood and tune of the setting sun as you return to the lodge to claim your well-deserved rest.
Begin the day with a cup of African coffee ready for an early morning game drive, bird watching and sightseeing across the open savannah dotted woodland and riverine vegetation along the Nile and Albert delta. The morning game drive is the best way to serve the dish of Wild safari adventure when it is still hot. This is because at these times when the sun is lazy, the animals are most active and therefore up and about without a fear in the world. This is just the perfect time to see most of the animals that would rather stay hidden from the approaching hot scorching sun of the day.
Return to the lodge for breakfast and lunch. After lunch, a three hour boat trip along the Nile gives assured chance to see the falls from the bottom angle. Hippos, crocodiles, antelopes and aquatic birds can be seen gracing the shores of the river in splendour. For those who are proud and would love to show off their levels of fitness in exchange for the ultimate hiking experience, you will get off the boat and take a hike to the top of the falls. This historic site can only be reached from the south bank.
From the top of the falls there are fantastic advantage points that the falls can be viewed from and photographed. Don’t be faint hearted, take a leap of faith and feel the real adventure for what it’s really like. There is no settling for less when you know that at the top, the view is always magnificent.
Wake up at 6am prepared to capture the unrivalled moment of the African rising sun as it makes its grand entrance to a land to which it shall shine rays of hope, beauty and happiness throughout the day. You can take a photograph to hold, to cherish and remind you of this journey to Uganda; the Pearl of Africa. Later, you will enjoy the ultimate African breakfast. It is really a beautiful day, the perfect weather to drive to Kaniyo Pabidi in Budongo forest for chimpanzee tracking. After sharing quality time with the chimpanzees, we shall transfer to Kampala with a stopover for lunch in Masindi.
After lunch, you will be dropped off at a destination of your choice.
